DICOM Digital Pathology Hackathon
DICOM Working Group 26 Pathology (WG-26) is hosting the 2nd virtual Hackathon to collaboratively develop computational tools for the creation, exchange, and usage of whole slide image annotations and analysis results in standard DICOM format.
The event is part of WG-26’s initiative to streamline the standard setting process in the pathology domain through early and active participation of diverse stakeholder groups and thereby enable interoperable quantitative slide microscopy imaging workflows using artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The Hackathon will take place on the Internet from September 27 to October 15 and a summary session and panel discussion will take place at Pathology Visions 2021 on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 9:45-10:30 AM PDT. Panelists include Markus Herrman, MD, PhD, MGH; Uwe Horchner, PhD, Roche; Jason Klotzer, Google Cloud Healthcare & Life Sciences.
Participation is free* and open to anyone interested in promoting standardization and interoperability in biomedical imaging informatics and in moving the field of computational pathology forward.
