PATHOLOGY VISIONS 2014 PRESENTER
Abstract: The Image Analysis workshop is intended for participants who would like to implement clinical and research image analysis applications. The content discussed will cover basic and advanced image analysis topics and methods. At the conclusion of the workshop, the participants will have an in-depth understanding of image analysis related to surgical pathology and related research. The workshop will include a didactic portion (four talks, 2.5 hours) and a hands-on portion (final 30 minutes). The hands-on activity will consist of real time examples and will include systems from participating vendors. Participants may rotate between vendors systems.
Biography: Mark has 11 years of experience as a staff scientist in the Analytic Microscopy lab at the Moffitt Cancer Center. Mark currently is the Principle Investigator for three active peer reviewed, grant funded projects in the digital pathology space. Dozens of publications have emerged from his laboratory and Mark has presented his scientific projects on four continents. Mark has 12 patents pending and is highly motivated to innovate in an effort to optimize care for cancer patients. He continues to be highly involved in the Digital Pathology Association as an active Pathology Visions committee member.
