Pathology Visions 2012 | Regulatory Update

The DPA will hold a special presentation in follow up to the Regulatory Panel at Pathology Visions 2011, where the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Pathology and Laboratory Quality Center will present:

Recommendations for Validating Whole Slide Imaging for Diagnostic
Purposes in Pathology
* | Monday, October 29 | 1 PM | Hilton Baltimore

The CAP Pathology & Laboratory Quality Center, “the Center,” a forum for developing evidence-based guidelines and consensus recommendations, convened a non-vendor expert panel from North America in June 2010, to answer the key question: “What needs to be done to “validate” a whole slide digital imaging system for diagnostic purposes before it is placed in clinical service?” The panel conducted a systematic review of international literature and addressed intended use, preparation types, case numbers, equipment, personnel, and process. The final recommendations incorporated both the feedback from the open comment period last summer and the strength of evidence from the current literature.

Please join Dr.  Liron Pantanowitz, MD, FCAP, chair; Anil Parwani, MD, PhD, FCAP and Andrew Evans, MD,PhD, FCAP, members of the panel, as they discuss the rationale and participate in a Q&A session.
