Presenting
Creating Technologies People Love

Abstract
As we embrace the 4th industrial revolution, technological capabilities accelerate and meet needs not thought possible only a few years ago. For example, in the realm of pathology, Artificial Intelligence is enabling diagnostic aids that can improve efficiency and throughput, allowing pathologists to focus on more critical or difficult cases. At the same time technology is not enough. People need to feel empowered and confident and even joy in adopting a new paradigm. In other words the technologies must not only work great but they must also feel great to use. This talk will explore how to create technologies embraced by provider and patent alike. We will look at a variety of industries and products, but especially the medical industry and even pathology. The talk will introduce innovation thinking and methods that can inform how to create new products that engender love from their customers.

Objectives

  1. Identify both technology and emotional requirements for a product
  2. Use the Value Opportunity Analysis to identify technology needs and differentiation
  3. Understanding how emerging technologies can address state of the art challenges in pathology and other applications through a formal product development process
