The Digital Pathology Association (DPA) is empowering the future of digital pathology with our 2026 Travel Awards. We're excited to offer dedicated opportunities for emerging leaders and global professionals to attend Pathology Visions 2026: Connecting Innovation with Purpose (October 16-18, San Diego, California).

 

Trainee Travel Awards (coming soon):

 

The DPA will award up to six (6) travel awards to pathology trainees to attend Pathology Visions 2026. Each award includes complimentary full conference registration and:

  • $3,500 for US and Canadian recipients.
  • $4,500 for international recipients.

 

Developing Economy (DE) Travel Award: 

 

One (1) travel award will be granted to an individual residing in a developing economy. This award includes complimentary conference registration and $5,500.

 

Award Criteria:

 

Recipients will be selected based on:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of digital and computational pathology.
  • Merit of the application.
  • The potential value of the award to the applicant's professional development and goals.

 

Eligibility:

 

  • Trainee: Applicants must be full-time (as defined by their institution) graduate students (MS & PhD), residents, or fellows.
  • Developing Economy: Applicants must reside in a country listed as a developing economy in the United Nations' World Economic Situation and Prospects report. For a complete list of eligible countries, please click here. For the full 2026 WESP report, please click here.

 

Application Requirements:

 

  • Trainee Applicants:
    • Submission of an oral or poster proposal for Pathology Visions 2026 is required.
    • The application is included within the oral/poster submission form and must be submitted concurrently.
  • Developing Economy Applicants: 
    • Submit the dedicated application form (member login required)
    • While proposal submission is not required for this award, if you wish to be considered for both a travel grant and presentation at the conference, you must submit both the DE travel award application and the oral/poster proposal form.
    • Applicants must have a valid passport and be able to obtain all required travel documentation.
  • DPA Membership:
    • All applicants must be current members of the DPA. Annual DPA membership dues are FREE for current students, trainees, and individuals from developing economies.

 

Awards are not transferable to subsequent years.
