Join Dr. Anupma Nayak as she presents the upcoming DAPA Grand Rounds, "Pitfalls and Pearls: Mastering Diagnostic Accuracy in Breast Pathology." This case-based discussion will provide a practical, diagnostic approach to breast pathology, emphasizing how to leverage clinical history, radiologic-pathologic correlation, biomarker status, and ancillary testing to ensure accurate diagnoses, while highlighting critical diagnostic pitfalls and subsequent management implications. Additionally, the discussion will highlight recent updates from the WHO classification of breast tumors, if any.

Dr. Anupma Nayak, MD, is an Associate Professor of Pathology and a practicing breast pathologist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she also serves as the Director of Breast Pathology Fellowship Program, Director of the Abramson Cancer Center Biorepository, and the Associate Vice Chair of translational and Clinical Research. Dr. Nayak is a passionate educator, and has led multiple short courses and interactive microscopy sessions at USCAP, ASCP, and CAP. She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts, with research focusing on biomarker discovery for early-stage and treatment-resistant breast cancers.

Dr. Zheng is an Associate Professor of Pathology at Emory University and a subspecialty GI and liver pathologist with expertise in histopathologic diagnostics and translational research. His scholarly work centers on integrated histogenomic approaches to GI and liver diseases, with many publications in high-impact journals. In addition to his clinical practice and research, Dr. Zheng is committed to medical education and mentorship, developing educational materials to support continuing education in pathology. He also serves on multiple national and international educational committees, as well as the editorial boards of many scientific and pathology journals, contributing to the advancement of the broader pathology community.
